New Self-Tanning Products

Happy Friday, Everyone!  This week went by so fast for me...it seems like it should be Wednesday.  Don't get me wrong, I'm happy happy happy that it's almost the weekend.  It is supposed to be cold this weekend though.  It was 85 degrees here Wednesday and yesterday it was freezing.  I'm ready for some sunshine, already!

But until then, I will get my spring "glow" from the amazing bronzers that QVC has offered lately.  I bought this one about a month ago when it was their Today's Special Value.  It is the St. Tropez Bronzing Mousse and it came with 2 mitts.

I did some research at other places to compare prices before purchasing and I have to say, QVC had the best value.

Verdict?  I've been known to use some self-tanners orange, smelly lotions in my day so I'm really picky when it comes to self-tanners.  This one was different.  Besides being my first time trying mitts, it went on very smoothly and streak-free.  It doesn't stink like a lot of self-tanners do.  Well, let me back up.  Most of them smell as soon as I put them on.  This one didn't.  BUT, I did notice that "tan" smell the next morning.  It's not supposed to smell so maybe my body just has a weird reaction to self-tanners...who knows!

I used this 3 days in a row when I was first testing it out and I definitely looked tan.  I didn't have any streaks.  It goes on a bronze color so you can see where you've already applied.  I made my husband promise I didn't look orange and he said I didn't.  So if he's lying, he gets to walk around with me while I'm rusty orange.

I signed up for auto-delivery to get another bottle of this in 6 months.  I'm really glad I did because it's my new favorite.  It's still available on QVC.  Just go to their website and search "St. Tropez Bronzing Mousse" - they also have many other St. Tropez products available.

I'm also thinking about ordering their Today's Special Value today.  It's the Josie Maran Argan Glow Self-Tanning Body Wash.  A self-tanning body wash?  I'm interested.  It also comes with an applicator and two mitts and you can sign up for auto-delivery for this one as well.  Check it out here.

Nail Files and a Giveaway

Today I'm linking up with Tara and Vicki  for their fabulous linkup party, The Nail Files. Essie : Turquoise and Caicos Julep : Ivy Annnnd...I'm doing something a little special for my readers today - a nail polish giveaway!!  I am admittedly copying Christina over at Easily Entertained .  :) She recently did a nail polish giveaway (that I missed out on..boo) and I thought what a GREAT way to get rid of some of my overflowing collection of polishes!!! You will win 8 bottles of nail polish including brands: OPI, CHI, Ulta, Avon, 2 Glitter Pots from Julep, and an Ulta Lipgloss! I apologize for the lighting - I will try to get a better picture and upload it. All of these polishes are slightly used (maybe 2 or 3 times) except for the CHI brand and the green Ulta one - those have never been used.  The glitter pots and the lipgloss are also brand spankin' new. a Rafflecopter giveaway

Halloween Treats

For work gifts this year, I used these free printables  and these free printables  to make these cute little treats!  I had a lot of fun making them.  I dragged my poor mom and David around to so many stores looking for different colored Tic Tacs and eyeball candy.  I wanted very badly to make the Vampire Vitamins...who knew it would be so hard to find red Tic Tacs! I also made this easy Halloween Bark. What You Need:   1 Package Halloween Oreos Candy Corn 2 Packages Wilton Candy Melts in White Halloween Sprinkles - I ended up using different sprinkles than the ones in the picture...a girl has a right to change her mind, right? Pretzels - I stole these out of our Trick-or-Treat bowl because I felt like it needed something to offset all the sweetness. 1. Crumble up the Oreos.  I crushed some by hand, some in my food processor and broke some in halves and some in fourths.  Spread out on cookie sheet over wax/parchment paper.  Sprinkle candy corn

A Batman Wedding and a $9 Wedding Dress

I was on this blog today and she was talking about how women spend so much money on wedding dresses.  It reminded me of my wedding and then I realized I've never blogged about it!!!  It's already been a year and half and I still haven't even scrapbooked it!!!  Where does the time go? Ok...to the dress.  I knew exactly what I wanted.  I wanted it to be short, satin, and a "pick-up" style dress.  I looked around at David's Bridal and other stores but I just couldn't see spending more than $100 on my dress.  (I've been married before and had the big, fancy wedding - and we see how well that worked out!!)  So this time, I wanted a small wedding and didn't want to spend much.  I walked into Ross one day looking for something else and decided to walk through the dresses to look for a dress for my sis, the MOH.  It was like the clouds opened up and the angels were singing and the sun beamed down on this dress.  You can't really tell from this pic,
