A Few of My Favorite Lip Products

I've recently became obsessed with the new lip products out right now.  Because Lord knows I need more makeup.   Here are a few I've picked up for the summer. L'Oreal Colour Riche Caresse Wet Shine Stain: Stubborn Plum L'Oreal Infallible Never Fail Lipgloss: Barely Nude Maybelline ColorSensational Vivids: Shocking Coral Maybelline ColorSensational Vivids: Electric Orange Here's what they look like on.  The Barely Nude is great for anytime.  I keep it on my desk at work to reapply throughout the day without having to worry about looking in a mirror.  The Stubborn Plum (second from top) doesn't look like this on my lips.  It's not as dark as I'd like it to be.  I have to layer it on to see any color.  The Shocking Coral is more of a pinkish color...not so much coral.  The Electric Orange is BRIGHT!  But, I usually mix it with another golden nude I have and it tones it down a little. All of these are perfect for sp...

New Self-Tanning Products

Happy Friday, Everyone!  This week went by so fast for me...it seems like it should be Wednesday.  Don't get me wrong, I'm happy happy happy that it's almost the weekend.  It is supposed to be cold this weekend though.  It was 85 degrees here Wednesday and yesterday it was freezing.  I'm ready for some sunshine, already!  But until then, I will get my spring "glow" from the amazing bronzers that QVC has offered lately.  I bought this one about a month ago when it was their Today's Special Value.  It is the St. Tropez Bronzing Mousse and it came with 2 mitts. I did some research at other places to compare prices before purchasing and I have to say, QVC had the best value. Verdict?  I've been known to use some self-tanners orange, smelly lotions in my day so I'm really picky when it comes to self-tanners.  This one was different.  Besides being my first time trying mitts, it went on very smoothly and s...

TRIA Hair Removal Laser

Ok...I'm just going to jump right into this.  Let's talk about hair.  I'm not talking about the hair on your head that you want people to see and love.  I'm talking about the unwanted hair that you loathe and want noone to see!  Embarrassing subject?  Yep!!  I have a medical condition called PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) that has many, many side effects that makes it extremely difficult to get preggers but that's another subject we won't get into right now.  One of the most annoying effects being facial hair!!  There, I said it.  Since high school I've had to deal with this embarrassing situation.  Back then, I hated it and I would cry because I thought I was the only one dealing with this.  Now that I'm older (and wiser), I can laugh about it.  And the more I talk to people about it, the more I realize women everywhere are dealing with this "lady with the beard" issue.  I seriously could join a circus, people....

Honey Do List

This isn't your typical "Honey Do" list - this is your "Honey Does Fabulous Things" list!!  Ok - enough of that.  When thinking of a title for this post, I just HAD to use something about honey do....and then it got cheesy in a hurry.  So, moving on.... I came across something in a magazine that talked about all the benefits of honey for your skin and hair.  I'm always on the hunt for wonderful beauty products and tips , so I thought I'd give this a go. First, I mixed olive oil and honey to create a syrup-like consistency.  (I saved the spoons from our last trip to Orange Leaf Fro-Yo - perfect for this)  I put this all over my hair and rubbed in as much as I could.  I have to admit, I was a little skeptical.  Once I got this all rubbed in, I thought "HOW the HECK is this going to come out without ripping my hair out?"  I seriously thought the person that came up with this recipe was some type of prankster and thought it wo...

A Habit Not to Break

Have you guys heard of the brand new program offered by Amazon, THE HABIT ??   I know, I know...you're probably thinking it's just another daily deals e-mail!  But seriously...it's the bomb diggity!  Here's a little preview of some of the things they have today... Echo Wedge Sandal Belli Skin Care Designer Sunglasses And there's a lot more where that came from!!  So go check it out...you can thank me later!

Bath and Body Works

Ok, so I have a little problem with Bath and Body Works.  I also talk about this here .  But, when they pretty much give you the stuff with all their coupons, it's hard..so very hard..to resist!!  Plus, when my hubby has to run into his golf store (which is about 45 seconds from BBW), I somehow always end up there.  So, I blame him. Here are the newest additions to my Bath and Body Works stash! Their soaps were on sale 5/$15 and they have some amazing new scents! Coconut Cove / Kitchen Mandarin / Island Breeze / Berry Sangria / Eucalyptus Mint (this one isn't new but I had to have it) Their new body scents Aruba Coconut and Bali Mango are my absolute favorites right now.  They are very "take me to the nearest beach" smells.  When I get more coupons, I'll have to go buy more of the Bali Mango.   ALSO.....my wedding post was just featured on Thrifty and Frugal Living ...eeeek!!!  Go check it out!!!

Let's Talk Hair

A couple days ago, I introduced Cristin .  Here is her first post!  Hilarious and informative....love it! Hi everyone!! Assistant Cristin reporting for duty.   Admitting from the start my grammar sucks. Fragments, punctuation marks, affect and effect (they get me every time). Ironically my mother is an English teacher. Yes. Imagine how proud she is. I am worthless when it comes to cooking, crafts and cleaning ‘tricks’. But I have spent a mini fortune on beauty products. Again imagine how proud my mother is. This first blog (in my entire life) is about a hair product that made me the product junkie I am now. Hair:   We all have it (if you are a woman and have alopecia areata I know a dermatologist that can help) and we all want something different. Thick wants thin. Thin wants thick. Curly wants straight. Straight wants curly. I think you get the idea. BUT what about your worst hair experience?   Most of us have had one. The skunk look. The “I hav...

Life Changing Beauty Product??

SHU UEMURA Art of Hair Essence Absolue Nourishing Protective Oil A friend of mine brought this product to my attention.  She forwarded this article to me from Birchbox .  You can also buy it on Amazon .  I have to say, the girl that wrote the article is pretty dang convincing.  I have NEVER spent this much on a beauty product...EVER!!!  So my question is....have any of you tried this product?  What did you think...Love?  Hate?  What is the most you've ever spent on a beauty product and what was it??  Maybe we can all go in together and separate it in smaller bottles....that way we could all afford it! :) One more day left to enter my Scentsy bar giveaway !!! I'm also linking up with Tara over at Fabulous but Evil for her Nail Files Linkup. Sinful : POPARAZZI  You may be wondering WTF when you look at this picture!  On my trip to Alabama , I was in WalGreens with my 3 year old niece, Addy.  She saw...

New Hair Product Find

I forgot to bring my heat protectant spray with me to Alabama...and it's a good thing or I would've never heard of this product!                                                              Beyond the Zone Turn Up The Heat Flat Iron Spray  My sister let me borrow it and Oh. My. Goodness. Smells soooo good! It smells like you could add some vodka and a small umbrella and make a tropical drink! I also like it because it comes out in a very light spray so it doesn't get all sticky. And even better...it's only 7 bucks at Sally Beauty Supply.  I'm sure you get it other places - that's just where she got it.  This will be next beauty product purchase!! I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and don't forget to enter my Scentsy bar giveaway !!

Ipsy vs. Birchbox Showdown

Well hello there!!  Yes, I AM still alive!  I don't know where the time has gone...it has been two weeks since I last blogged.  Shame on me.  I have been really busy lately - I haven't even had time to do yoga, run, or count my calories...and is starting to show!  I plan on doing "goals" post AFTER Thanksgiving :) I was out of town this past weekend and came home to 5 packages on my doorstep...how fun is that?!?!  Two of them were my Birchbox and my ipsy  so I decided to a comparison on the two.
