Gettin' My Flava On

As many of you probably already know, I'm addicted to Diet Dr. Pepper.  I've blogged about this problem many times.  Here, here, here, and here.  I can't even count how many times I've "quit" ddp.  Way too many times.  They are like my cigarette, my drug of choice, my nemesis, my guilty pleasure.    I know how bad they are for me...I even had a patient tell me how bad they are and that I need to quit drinking them...but there are other "bad" things including the sun, too much television, plastic bottles, styrofoam, standing too close to the microwave, etc.  So, to quit ddp...I say bump that.  I will probably never give it up completely.  It just ain't gonna happen.  And to say that I will quit is being unrealistic and I'm setting myself up for failure.  Especially on Mondays like today when I just can't wake up and snap out of it.  I guess I could start drinking coffee.

So instead of giving it up cold turkey and turning into a grumpy biotch, I'm just going to "cut back" and drink lots of water.  Problem with that is...I don't really like water.  Give me some FLAVOR!!  Enter water enhancers.  I've recently discovered these wonderful little miracles.  Thanks Ta'Selia for letting me try yours :)  I buy the ones without aspartame in them.  They are pretty damn tasty!!

Here are a few of my favorites...

Great Value Simply Clear: Strawberry Watermelon
Crystal Light Liquid: Blueberry Raspberry
MioEnergy: Green Thunder

Now, I am clearly addicted to these.  Probably in 5 years, these will bad for some ridiculous reason.  Sigh.

  1. Haha! I used to be addicted to pop and tried quoting several times, I finally stopped cold turkey and drank lemonade and juice until I could eventually give that up too and now I mostly just drink water, but I do still enjoy flavored water and lemonade occasionally! :)

  2. I'm going to have to try some of those! I know this sounds ridiculous but when I was working on cutting down on my pop I bought myself a few really cute water bottles/cups - I love the ones from Mason Bar Company (Etsy) and for some silly reason it really helps me up my water intake.

A Batman Wedding and a $9 Wedding Dress

I was on this blog today and she was talking about how women spend so much money on wedding dresses.  It reminded me of my wedding and then I realized I've never blogged about it!!!  It's already been a year and half and I still haven't even scrapbooked it!!!  Where does the time go? Ok...to the dress.  I knew exactly what I wanted.  I wanted it to be short, satin, and a "pick-up" style dress.  I looked around at David's Bridal and other stores but I just couldn't see spending more than $100 on my dress.  (I've been married before and had the big, fancy wedding - and we see how well that worked out!!)  So this time, I wanted a small wedding and didn't want to spend much.  I walked into Ross one day looking for something else and decided to walk through the dresses to look for a dress for my sis, the MOH.  It was like the clouds opened up and the angels were singing and the sun beamed down on this dress.  You can't really tell fr...
