Pink Lemonade Birthday Party

For the girls first birthday, we went ALL out!  My inspiration for the theme was these Pink Lemonade decorations I found at Hobby Lobby.  Let me be honest and say I found these decorations back in January...their birthday is in July...so I planned this bash for 6 months.  I don't even think I planned our wedding that far in advance!  On second thought, I probably did.  I LOVE planning parties!

I just love this saying and it's perfectly fitting for the girls.  When we found out we were having twins, we didn't know what the heck we were going to do.  We were scared...very scared!  But now, I can't imagine it any other way.  They're our little lemons!

My DH made this adorable lemonade stand.  He did such a great job - I love it!  I kept it because one day when the girls are older, they can use it as an actual lemonade stand.  We just used 2 wooden crates you can find at any craft store or even Walmart, some lumber we got at Lowe's, paint, stain, and some decorations I got at Hobby Lobby.  I made the pendant banner with a printable package from Etsy shop, Tangering PaperShoppe, and some twine.  I didn't really plan this but it became a "photo booth" if you will at the party.  I noticed all the kids getting their pictures with it.  Perfect!

I ordered the invitations from Etsy shop, Babycakes Design Studio

I did a candy bar with all kinds of pink and yellow candies.  I found most of them from Oriental Trading Company but a few came from Walmart.  I even used the pink Goldfish in the buffet.  I printed food tent cards from the printable package I got off of Etsy.

My previous boss made these cookies.  I thought they turned out so adorable and they were delish!

I ordered these candy bar wrap from Etsy shop, LilParty Animals.  I had to have her customize the nutrition facts on the back to fit for two birthday girls instead of one.

I did a pink lemonade serving section.  I had a drink dispenser and used "milk" style bottles with pink and yellow straws from Hobby Lobby and straw flags that I also got from the printable package from TangerinePaper Shoppe.  The lemonade sign came from Hobby Lobby.

I also did a cupcake stand.  I ordered the lemonade and pink lemonade cupcakes from a local bakery, ButterSweet Cakes.  If you're even in the area, you must stop by there!

For a snack before (or after) all those sweets, I had a sandwich tray.  My mom found this tray at Sam's Club and it couldn't have been more perfect!

I made these centerpieces from the printable package, burlap craft items from Hobby Lobby, and tins from the dollar section at Target.

The birthday guest hats were ordered from VeeVeeDesignes from Etsy.  Most of the birthday budget went to Etsy, can you tell?!?

Instead of another smash cake like the one we had for their smash cake pics, we did 2 small cupcakes.  I had the cake decorator make them to match everything.  The 1 candles I found at Hobby Lobby.

Here's the cake.  I had sent the decorator a couple pictures of what I wanted and this is what she came up with.  I was happy with it - I just feel like fondant would've made it smoother.  I didn't want fondant though because honestly, I can't stand the taste of it.

I found this game through Oriental Trading and had to have it!

These adorable barefoot sandals came from PatchworkJanes on Etsy.  Love them!  And those baby toes!!

The balloons came from Oriental Trading Company.

I made a banner from scrapbook paper and a pre-made burlap banner at Hobby Lobby.  I also made a banner from the girls' monthly pictures, twine, and clothespins.

I ordered chalkboard posters from Etsy (unfortunately, the shop is no longer open) and printed them for these 8x10 frames I found at Hobby Lobby.  I also found the yellow chevron clipboard frame at Hobby Lobby and used it for one of their smash cake photos.

After looking at the pictures from the birthday party, I realized Kentley's weight was wrong :( It should've been 17 - oops!

And I can't leave out a few photos of my girlies!  Their highchair banners were also made using the printable package from Etsy.  I used a pre-made burlap banner from Hobby Lobby, and added ribbon and tulle.  By the time this picture was taken, they had been beaten and abused by baby feet.

 Miss Kentley...

 and Miss Carley...

Their outfits and hats came from Etsy shop, DoodlesDotsnDimples.

Here's one of their smash cake photos (before we brought the cakes out) - the lemon necklaces came from Analeigh and Me Boutique.

And a HUGE thank you to my wonderful sister for taking the birthday party pictures!  We were running around like crazy so we're so glad we can look back on these!!

Loving Lately: My Discovery of MAC Cosmetics

I am 29 years young and I have JUST discovered MAC.  Yes, it's true.  I have apparently been living under a rock.  In a bubble.  Something!!  I ran out of foundation this weekend and decided to give it a try.  And O.M.G. I am so glad I did.  Ok - here are my face issues... 1. Oily Eyelids - eyeshadow creases within an hour...not fun. 2. Oily Face - makeup disappears and the shine is outta control...not fun either!! 3. Acne Scars - the dark spot kind...ugh!  4. Acne - why do I have acne at 29???  It just isn't fair to have to use acne treatment AND an anti-aging cream!!  I went to the MAC counter with absolutely no makeup on whatsoever....I was not lookin' pretty!  They were having a special event to market their "after hours" collection  and there was a model there with her husband who is apparently a famous NBA basketball player from the LA Clippers.  I guess I should've gotten a picture bu...

TRIA Hair Removal Laser

Ok...I'm just going to jump right into this.  Let's talk about hair.  I'm not talking about the hair on your head that you want people to see and love.  I'm talking about the unwanted hair that you loathe and want noone to see!  Embarrassing subject?  Yep!!  I have a medical condition called PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) that has many, many side effects that makes it extremely difficult to get preggers but that's another subject we won't get into right now.  One of the most annoying effects being facial hair!!  There, I said it.  Since high school I've had to deal with this embarrassing situation.  Back then, I hated it and I would cry because I thought I was the only one dealing with this.  Now that I'm older (and wiser), I can laugh about it.  And the more I talk to people about it, the more I realize women everywhere are dealing with this "lady with the beard" issue.  I seriously could join a circus, people....
