The Vintage Pearl

After wanting one forever, I finally got a Vintage Pearl Necklace.  It was my Valentine's present.  It came a little late because David had originally bought me a yoga workshop weekend for Valentine's but unfortunately, I had to get a refund on that because it was the same weekend as the Color Me Rad 5K (more on that later).

As nany of you know, I absolutely hate making decisions!  Basically because I want everything and can't decide which I want the most.  This would explain my shoe and Bath and Body Works problem.   Or any shopping problem for that matter.

I was in the Vintage Pearl shop a little over an hour.  I walked from charm to charm, necklace to necklace, and finally called my hubby, who was patiently waiting in the car, in to help me decide.  And when I say "patiently waiting", I mean he only sent two texts asking what I was doing and how much longer it was going to be.

I felt weird picking out my own necklace - it would've been easier for someone to actually pick it out FOR me.  Plus, we don't have kids so I couldn't recreate a lot of the examples in the store.  BUT, we do have a furbaby and when I saw this dog bone, I knew I had to have it.  I also wear both white and yellow gold, depending on the day, so I chose to mix the two metals.  The bone is a pewter color and everything else is yellow gold.  I did two basic circles with our names and of course, a pearl.  Thought from David "You are putting our names on there?  Don't we know our own names?" - gotta love him.

Another thought from David when I had the bone in the middle.... well just use your imagination.  Boys will be boys.  So I put the bone on the outside so it wouldn't look so inappropriate.  :)

I love how it turned out!

You will win 8 bottles of nail polish including brands: OPI, CHI, Ulta, Avon, 2 Glitter Pots from Julep, and an Ulta Lipgloss! I apologize for the lighting - I will try to get a better picture and upload it. All of these polishes are slightly used (maybe 2 or 3 times) except for the CHI brand and the green Ulta one - those have never been used.  The glitter pots and the lipgloss are also brand spankin' new. a Rafflecopter giveaway

Halloween Treats

For work gifts this year, I used these free printables  and these free printables  to make these cute little treats!  I had a lot of fun making them.  I dragged my poor mom and David around to so many stores looking for different colored Tic Tacs and eyeball candy.  I wanted very badly to make the Vampire Vitamins...who knew it would be so hard to find red Tic Tacs! I also made this easy Halloween Bark. What You Need:   1 Package Halloween Oreos Candy Corn 2 Packages Wilton Candy Melts in White Halloween Sprinkles - I ended up using different sprinkles than the ones in the picture...a girl has a right to change her mind, right? Pretzels - I stole these out of our Trick-or-Treat bowl because I felt like it needed something to offset all the sweetness. 1. Crumble up the Oreos.  I crushed some by hand, some in my food processor and broke some in halves and some in fourths.  Spread out on cookie sheet over wax/parchment paper.  Sprinkle candy corn

A Batman Wedding and a $9 Wedding Dress

I was on this blog today and she was talking about how women spend so much money on wedding dresses.  It reminded me of my wedding and then I realized I've never blogged about it!!!  It's already been a year and half and I still haven't even scrapbooked it!!!  Where does the time go? Ok...to the dress.  I knew exactly what I wanted.  I wanted it to be short, satin, and a "pick-up" style dress.  I looked around at David's Bridal and other stores but I just couldn't see spending more than $100 on my dress.  (I've been married before and had the big, fancy wedding - and we see how well that worked out!!)  So this time, I wanted a small wedding and didn't want to spend much.  I walked into Ross one day looking for something else and decided to walk through the dresses to look for a dress for my sis, the MOH.  It was like the clouds opened up and the angels were singing and the sun beamed down on this dress.  You can't really tell from this pic,
