About

Hey!! I'm Kari and I'm so glad you stopped by to check out my little corner of the world! I love to talk about all kinds of random things - my sweet and dear hubby {David}, my cute little bundle of joy {Ally - my beagle mix}, my home, vacation, clothes, shoes, makeup, beauty products {can you tell I'm a girly girl?}, decorating, and so many other things I like to think people love to read about and hear what I have to say! I am by no means an expert on any of the above topics, but I like to pretend!

This is my second blog and I am going to TRY and attempt to keep this one up and going. Check out my first one here. I wanted a fun and catchy name for my blog and one night when I couldn't fall asleep, I decided to think about some ideas. This just caused me to stay awake even longer :) I wanted a name that had meaning but would still be "cutesy" - is that word? I decided on Cupcakes and Bling because a)I ♥ cupcakes and bling and 2)When David proposed he put the ring inside of a cupcake trinket box. Such a sweet guy! (Did you notice when I listed the reasons I put a) and then 2) - my hubby does this all the time when explaining things to try and be funny so I did that for him - I can be sweet too!)

I am married to the love of my life. We met in 2009 {on mySpace} and married on September 3, 2011. He is my best friend and I like to think I am his best friend too :) We have the most adorable dog, Ally. We adopted her in July of 2011 from a local shelter. She was only 5 pounds. Now, 55 pounds later, she is a handful! She's a beagle mix - I'm sure I will be posting lots of pictures of her in the future :)

I work in the healthcare industry as a Credentialing Specialist. I've been working on the business side of the medical field for almost 7 years now. I work with some amazing girls! (One of them told me to mention them in my blog so I had to throw that in!) Actually, they ARE amazing and I'm sure I will be blogging about them in the future :)

David works in the golf industry - he has been for the past 14 years. We have been together for almost 3 years and he has yet to buy me clubs or take me golfing - I think he's just scared I will be better than him!! He DID take me miniature golfing which I totally kicked his butt at! At least that's how I remember it!! :)

For those of you that don't know, David & I met on MySpace in July of 2009. Yes, that's right...MySpace! Crazy, I know!! After about a week of talking online and on the phone, David drove down to meet me in my hometown and we walked around the lake until the next morning! Now I look back and think "What if he was a crazy person??" Well he was definitely not a crazy person, so we did the long distance thing for 7 months and then in February 2010, I made the move to OKC and we moved in together. We don't like to waste any time! ;-) We still act like we did when we first started dating...it's kind of sickening how much in love we are!! Yes, we're *that* couple! :-)

I also sell Scentsy!!  Check it out  www.scentsy.com/sassyscent

You will win 8 bottles of nail polish including brands: OPI, CHI, Ulta, Avon, 2 Glitter Pots from Julep, and an Ulta Lipgloss! I apologize for the lighting - I will try to get a better picture and upload it. Loving Lately: My Discovery of MAC Cosmetics

I am 29 years young and I have JUST discovered MAC.  Yes, it's true.  I have apparently been living under a rock.  In a bubble.  Something!!  I ran out of foundation this weekend and decided to give it a try.  And O.M.G. I am so glad I did.  Ok - here are my face issues... 1. Oily Eyelids - eyeshadow creases within an hour...not fun. 2. Oily Face - makeup disappears and the shine is outta control...not fun either!! 3. Acne Scars - the dark spot kind...ugh!  4. Acne - why do I have acne at 29???  It just isn't fair to have to use acne treatment AND an anti-aging cream!!  I went to the MAC counter with absolutely no makeup on whatsoever....I was not lookin' pretty!  They were having a special event to market their "after hours" collection  and there was a model there with her husband who is apparently a famous NBA basketball player from the LA Clippers.  I guess I should've gotten a picture but I was more focused on getting some makeup on my fac

TRIA Hair Removal Laser

Ok...I'm just going to jump right into this.  Let's talk about hair.  I'm not talking about the hair on your head that you want people to see and love.  I'm talking about the unwanted hair that you loathe and want noone to see!  Embarrassing subject?  Yep!!  I have a medical condition called PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) that has many, many side effects that makes it extremely difficult to get preggers but that's another subject we won't get into right now.  One of the most annoying effects being facial hair!!  There, I said it.  Since high school I've had to deal with this embarrassing situation.  Back then, I hated it and I would cry because I thought I was the only one dealing with this.  Now that I'm older (and wiser), I can laugh about it.  And the more I talk to people about it, the more I realize women everywhere are dealing with this "lady with the beard" issue.  I seriously could join a circus, people.  Ok, maybe it's not t
