OKC Thunder Wreath

As many of you know, the OKC Thunder are playing in the NBA playoffs and David and I are huge Thunder fans!!  They won the first game and play the 2nd tomorrow night, I believe!!  I even chose my Julep Maven box one month because the polishes were blue and orange.  And here is one of my first ever blog posts of us in our Thunder gear.  If we could go to every game, we would.  I decided instead of buying a Thunder wreath and spending about twice the amount, I would just make one!  It was sooo easy - thanks to this website.  I love all of her videos!  I don't think I will ever buy a wreath again.

I made this fun little collage in my new favorite iPhone app called Photo Collage.  It was free until I fell in love with this heart one and then I was suckered into paying $1.99 so I could get it.  So not fair!

I got all of my supplies at Hobby Lobby.  I used:
1 Large Wreath Form
(our front door is huge - otherwise I would've done a smaller one and had more left over)
Pipe Cleaners
Deco Mesh in Blue and Orange
Bridal Wired Ribbon in White - you can also use tulle
Wired Orange Ribbon
Zebra Ribbon
(I couldn't fnd it in wired - I would highly suggest using wired if at all possible)
Styrofoam Basketballs
I added some Black Stickles to the black lines just to dress them up.  Hobby Lobby had some basketball appliques that I really liked but they weren't on sale.  I will probably go back and get them when they put them on sale because I'm not totally in love with these styrofoam ones - but they will work for now.

I won't walk you through all of the steps because you can go watch this girl's awesome video tutorials and see how I did it.

It took about 2 hours to make.  It's not completely done because I want to add "OKC" in the middle with wooden letters.  I'm going to paint them blue and add blue glitter so that should be a mess fun.

My plan for Christmas is to do a Thunder Christmas tree in our extra bedroom.  I started making the decorations for it last year.  See my Thunder ornaments here.

Once I add the letters and maybe some more zebra ribbon, I'll post the finished product.  Go THUNDER!!

Nail Files and a Giveaway

Today I'm linking up with Tara and Vicki  for their fabulous linkup party, The Nail Files. Essie : Turquoise and Caicos Julep : Ivy Annnnd...I'm doing something a little special for my readers today - a nail polish giveaway!!  I am admittedly copying Christina over at Easily Entertained .  :) She recently did a nail polish giveaway (that I missed out on..boo) and I thought what a GREAT way to get rid of some of my overflowing collection of polishes!!! You will win 8 bottles of nail polish including brands: OPI, CHI, Ulta, Avon, 2 Glitter Pots from Julep, and an Ulta Lipgloss! I apologize for the lighting - I will try to get a better picture and upload it. All of these polishes are slightly used (maybe 2 or 3 times) except for the CHI brand and the green Ulta one - those have never been used.  The glitter pots and the lipgloss are also brand spankin' new. a Rafflecopter giveaway

Halloween Treats

For work gifts this year, I used these free printables  and these free printables  to make these cute little treats!  I had a lot of fun making them.  I dragged my poor mom and David around to so many stores looking for different colored Tic Tacs and eyeball candy.  I wanted very badly to make the Vampire Vitamins...who knew it would be so hard to find red Tic Tacs! I also made this easy Halloween Bark. What You Need:   1 Package Halloween Oreos Candy Corn 2 Packages Wilton Candy Melts in White Halloween Sprinkles - I ended up using different sprinkles than the ones in the picture...a girl has a right to change her mind, right? Pretzels - I stole these out of our Trick-or-Treat bowl because I felt like it needed something to offset all the sweetness. 1. Crumble up the Oreos.  I crushed some by hand, some in my food processor and broke some in halves and some in fourths.  Spread out on cookie sheet over wax/parchment paper.  Sprinkle candy corn

A Batman Wedding and a $9 Wedding Dress

I was on this blog today and she was talking about how women spend so much money on wedding dresses.  It reminded me of my wedding and then I realized I've never blogged about it!!!  It's already been a year and half and I still haven't even scrapbooked it!!!  Where does the time go? Ok...to the dress.  I knew exactly what I wanted.  I wanted it to be short, satin, and a "pick-up" style dress.  I looked around at David's Bridal and other stores but I just couldn't see spending more than $100 on my dress.  (I've been married before and had the big, fancy wedding - and we see how well that worked out!!)  So this time, I wanted a small wedding and didn't want to spend much.  I walked into Ross one day looking for something else and decided to walk through the dresses to look for a dress for my sis, the MOH.  It was like the clouds opened up and the angels were singing and the sun beamed down on this dress.  You can't really tell from this pic,
