Pottery Painting

One afternoon, our departments at work took a little break - a MUCH NEEDED break!  We like to call it "team building".  We went to Be Wild for Art in Norman, Oklahoma.  You pick the piece you want to paint, your colors, brushes - and let me tell you, there are TONS of items to pick from!  It was so hard to decide!!

These are all the colors of paint

They even have a bling bar - can't go wrong with a little bling!

Pick your poison!

I will be doing a platter next!

Aren't they all so intensely focused?!?  I love how they all seemed to manage a "We are trying to paint, get the camera out of our face" smile!

I knew I wanted to do something for my kitchen so it had to be turqouse and yellow - this was my inspiration.

I chose to do a spoon rest - plus I wanted to start small :)

After they fire the paint, it gets so much darker - crazy.

After I was done with the spoon rest, I wanted to do something else.  Um...it's kind of addicting.  Soooo...I decided to make David a mug for his birthday.  This is why I've waited so long to post these pictures - his birthday is the end of December and I didn't want to spoil the surprise.

Here they are after having them fired.  See how much darker they look??  I love it!

My finished products!

IMPOSSIBLE to get everyone looking - they hate me because I force pictures upon them!
I can wait to go back. I think we need another team building exercise!!

Today I'm linking up with Tara and Vicki  for their fabulous linkup party, The Nail Files. Essie : Turquoise and Caicos Julep : Ivy Annnnd...I'm doing something a little special for my readers today - a nail polish giveaway!!  I am admittedly copying Christina over at Easily Entertained .  :) She recently did a nail polish giveaway (that I missed out on..boo) and I thought what a GREAT way to get rid of some of my overflowing collection of polishes!!! You will win 8 bottles of nail polish including brands: OPI, CHI, Ulta, Avon, 2 Glitter Pots from Julep, and an Ulta Lipgloss! I apologize for the lighting - I will try to get a better picture and upload it. All of these polishes are slightly used (maybe 2 or 3 times) except for the CHI brand and the green Ulta one - those have never been used.  The glitter pots and the lipgloss are also brand spankin' new. a Rafflecopter giveaway

Loving Lately: My Discovery of MAC Cosmetics

I am 29 years young and I have JUST discovered MAC.  Yes, it's true.  I have apparently been living under a rock.  In a bubble.  Something!!  I ran out of foundation this weekend and decided to give it a try.  And O.M.G. I am so glad I did.  Ok - here are my face issues... 1. Oily Eyelids - eyeshadow creases within an hour...not fun. 2. Oily Face - makeup disappears and the shine is outta control...not fun either!! 3. Acne Scars - the dark spot kind...ugh!  4. Acne - why do I have acne at 29???  It just isn't fair to have to use acne treatment AND an anti-aging cream!!  I went to the MAC counter with absolutely no makeup on whatsoever....I was not lookin' pretty!  They were having a special event to market their "after hours" collection  and there was a model there with her husband who is apparently a famous NBA basketball player from the LA Clippers.  I guess I should've gotten a picture bu...

TRIA Hair Removal Laser

Ok...I'm just going to jump right into this.  Let's talk about hair.  I'm not talking about the hair on your head that you want people to see and love.  I'm talking about the unwanted hair that you loathe and want noone to see!  Embarrassing subject?  Yep!!  I have a medical condition called PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) that has many, many side effects that makes it extremely difficult to get preggers but that's another subject we won't get into right now.  One of the most annoying effects being facial hair!!  There, I said it.  Since high school I've had to deal with this embarrassing situation.  Back then, I hated it and I would cry because I thought I was the only one dealing with this.  Now that I'm older (and wiser), I can laugh about it.  And the more I talk to people about it, the more I realize women everywhere are dealing with this "lady with the beard" issue.  I seriously could join a circus, people....
