H54F

1. These came in the mail for me this week and I am in love with them.  I don't know how I lived without them.  The OXO Good Grips 3-in-1 Avocado Slicer - it splits, pits, and slices!  And the MSC Joie Avocado Saver hold the leftover half and prevents it from turning brown.  It actually works!

2.  Ally was laying on the floor in the kitchen staring in the corner of the cabinet.  I was wondering what the heck she was looking at.  This little tree frog somehow snuck in our house.  So cute!

3. Fresh fruit was this week's goal in the 42 Days to Fit Challenge.  Last week, I gave up soda.  Not as hard as I would have thought.

4.  Almost every morning I get to work, I have to stop to let families of geese get by.  The babies are just so dang cute and fuzzy.

5.  My first article, a review on Pinkitzel, was published in a local magazine!  So excited!

Gabriella's Italian - Oklahoma City

You may remember a couple weeks ago, I talked about a to-die-for banana split that David and I shared.  It was at Gabriella's in Oklahoma City.  We love to try out local places in our city.  Gabriella's is a really quaint, Italian restaurant that has a very unique story to go along with the amazing food.  Instead of trying to word it in my own words, I figured nobody can tell it as good as they can, so check it out here.

For our appetizer, we ordered the Toasted Ravioli.  Now, my absolute favorite toasted ravioli is from Olive Garden.  It's hard to compete with my favorites when it comes to food.  This one did.  It is now my favorite.  Sorry Olive Garden.  I still love you.

And their salad....the best salad I've ever had.  Throw some croutons on there from Texas Roadhouse (that's the place that has the huge, homemade croutons, right?) and you have a match made in Heaven.

They even serve you a little bread and cheese platter...fancy, huh?  Because that's how we roll.  Pure fanciness.

David got...drumroll please...Chicken Fettucine Alfredo.  He ALWAYS gets this when we eat Italian.  He really needs to branch out to make a more lively and colorful picture, don't you agree?

I got Gabriella's Five Layer Lasagna - deliciousa!

And here it is...another drumroll please...

The Italian Banana Split.  This is the big daddy, the granddaddy of all banana splits.

And in case you need a closer look at all that goodness.

Yea, we felt absolutely disgusting after devouring the entire thing.  But, in all honesty, David had more than me.  And that's my story ;-)

Leopard and Green

I have recently discovered my love of leopard.  Ok, I'm lying.  I have always been a little obsessed with anything leopard print.  Our master bedroom and bathroom have leopard accents (thanks to the hubby for letting me add leopard), my robe is leopard, my favorite bra is leopard, my office has leopard, my Snuggie is leopard.  You get the idea.  So last week, I paired it with green and now I love it even more.

Necklace: JCP / Bracelet: GroopDealz / Watch: Betsey Johnson / Bag: Jessica Simpson / Shoes: JCP

Let's discuss two things now.  First, the green bracelet.  You may remember me talking about everything pink and mint.  I get the most fabulous jewelry from GroopDealz.  Check it out.  Moving on...

Second, that BAG!!  True story... About 6 or so months ago, I was in Staples (or Office Depot - I always get them confused) and I saw this amazing Jessica Simpson Leopard Tote lined in PINK!  It would be perfect for my books/magazines/planner/bagofthingsIneed that I take to work everyday.  Plus, it came with a pink laptop cover/case whatever you call it.  It was everything I could have ever wanted in a bag.  Except, it was over $100!!  I am a bargain shopper and refuse to pay that much for a book tote.  I left the store very sad and put it on my list of things I need.  I never saw it again :(

UNTIL I went to Ross last week at lunch with the intentions of buying a book tote because I am tired of my old, plain, brown one.  They had the bag!!  It was the only one they had left and it was only $27.99!!!  Annnnd it still had the little price gadget thing from Staples on the inside.  It had gone on sale there to $79.99.  But, apparently nobody purchased it because they knew it was meant to be mine!  Staples shipped it off to Ross and it is now with me every. single. day.  Talk about meant to have this bag!

NINE Days - NO Soda

I have been following the 42 Days To Fit Challenge and surprisingly, it hasn't been THAT hard.  I have completely given up my Diet Dr. Pepper addiction..for nine days!!  If you know me, you know that I am addicted to it...like at least 3 a day addicted.  It was BAD!  I have only been drinking water and tea.  I have to drink tea to prevent the caffeine headaches.  This challenge has really motivated me and I am sticking to it.  I've been trying out new recipes like homemade blueberry muffins and these amazing and EASY 2 ingredient homemade biscuits.  I cooked up some turkey sausage and have been eating sausage biscuits for breakfast every morning.  Easy peasy!  And much cheaper than McD's!

Want to take this challenge with me?  You can purchase the eBook here.  I'm on week 2 and am really excited about it!

H54F and Nail Files

Linking up with Tara for The Nail Files and Lauren at for High Five for Friday

First, a reminder to enter my nail polish giveaway here.  Only 12 hours left!

1. We went to Gabriella's and had this "magic, no calories" banana split.  Nothing short of amazing!  More on that restaurant later.

2. I have decided on these flowers for my flower garden.  They are called Lantana flowers.  I love them!  I can't wait to get them planted!

3. I got my Josie Maran Self-Tanning Body Wash in!!  I have to say - I friggin' love this stuff!  It's a body wash...that tans you.  So you can use it in the shower and wash it off after 30 seconds.  This is great because you don't have that yucky smell.  It comes with a long-handled loofah so you can get your back instead of having your husband, your friend, or neighbor doing it.  That's just awkward.  You can order yours from QVC here.  Just search "Josie Maran Body Wash".  I am also loving this self-tanner.

4. Cristin and I went for mani's and pedi's last night.  I haven't had a professional mani/pedi in over a year!  It was well overdue.  I chose an Essie purple (can't remember the names) for my toes and an Essie grey for my nails.  Then she added a China Glaze glitter.  Love.

5. On May 20th, Moore, Oklahoma got hit by the bitch we call Mother Nature when an F5 tornado touched down on a 20 mile path.  Winds were over 200 mph.  My "H54F" part is that it is absolutely amazing how my fellow Oklahomans have came together and are doing everything that needs to be done.  Donating, sorting, delivering, comforting, hugging, wiping tears, praying, and whatever else will help with rebuilding this community.  Kevin Durant, OKC Thunder player, said it best when he said "The sun will shine again."

6. Bonus:  I got a new position wihin my company!!  I am SO excited!  I start on the 3rd of next month and I CANNOT wait.  It has been a long time coming.  There is a ridiculous amount of drama and lies and backstabbing and pettiness (I could go on and on..and on - but I will refrain) in the department that I am currently in and basically, I'm over it.  My poor hubby gets an ear full every night and I'm positive he has started to tune me out.  :)  I've been looking for a new position for about a year now and I think I have finally found the perfect one!  You know that feeling you get after ending a really bad relationship and then you find Mr. Right - it's kinda like that.  Everyone seems extremely nice and welcoming.  And they even have a Keurig in the office...not too shabby!  Downside, I won't have my personal office anymore but at least I will be happy going to work every morning and I will be making a little more cashola so I think I will be ok without an office!

Box of Sunshine and Neighbor Baskets

I love putting together gift baskets for people - so when I get the chance, I jump on it.  For instance, one of my friends celebrated her birthday a couple weeks ago and she's been going through some not so happy times so what better than a Sunshine Box???  I saw this idea on Pinterest (wish I could take full credit for the idea) and knew I wanted to make her one.

Basically, you just buy everything in yellow.  Easy?  Yes!

Here's what I included in her box:
Yellow Gatorade - I don't know the flavor because we all choose our Gatorade by the color and not the flavor right??
Yellow Nail Polish
Bottle of Bubbles
Yellow Kleenex Pack
Lemonheads
Butterfinger
Lays
Yellow Dish Soap
Juicy Fruit
Yellow Sticky Note Pad
Yellow Loofah
Yellow Cat Dog Toy - I couldn't find a yellow dog toy so I improvised with a cat toy.  Her dog is small and he'll never know the difference.
I also got her a yellow sign at Hobby Lobby but you could definitely do this without that.

The blue tissue paper represents the sky.  Ok, not really.  And I didn't choose blue on purpose.  I just made that part up...just now.

I packed it all in a photo organizer box I found at Michael's and topped it with a yellow (of course) bow.

My next baskets are for our neighbors.  We FINALLY have neighbors!  We have lived in our house for almost a year with absolutely nobody around us.  The closest one is 3 houses down. We don't even have neighbors behind us because that is where the clubhouse is.  So when both houses on either side of us sold in the same weekend, we were pretty excited.  Well, it was bittersweet.  We kinda enjoyed the privacy.  Not that we walked out on our front porch with no clothes on but just knowing that we could if we wanted to was nice...just sayin'.

Cookie and Cupcake Basket

Spaghetti Dinner Basket

I am making myself be neighborly because I've lived around some not so friendly people and I don't want to be "that" person.  I'm normally quiet and wait for people to come to me (most people refer to this as being snobby..ugh), but I'm tyring to break out of my shell.  Plus, we were there first so it's only polite to welcome them.  Next, I just have to break my hubby out of his shell and have HIM invite them over for a BBQ or something.  I made the baskets so it's only fair he does that, right?  I thought so.

The Mule and Roxy's Ice Cream - Oklahoma City

While we (my mom, aunt, cousin, and I) were down in Plaza District OKC last week, we visited The Ruff Life Lingerie Store, Bad Granny's Bazaar Thrift Shop and then ate at The Mule.  I had heard all about their Grilled Cheese with Macaroni and Cheese inside of it so of course, that's what I ordered!  Much like the burger I had at Flatire Burgers that also had mac & cheese inside.  I'm pretty sure you could throw m&c on anything and I would eat it.  Well, maybe not anything.

And there it is....the Macaroni Pony: Jalepeno Cornbread, Chipotle BBQ Pulled Pork, 3 Cheese Mac and Cheese, and a Pickle.  Is your mouth watering yet??

They also have a Big Ass Grilled Cheese (love the name).  It didn't really matter who ordered what because we all got sandwiches and split them four ways.

I love going to a place that has a selection of "different" beers.

Please.

We ordered the Okie Poutine appetizer - Beer Battered French Fries, House White Gravy, Watonga Cheese Curds.  Cheese Curds?  Sounded weired to me but my aunt ordered them.  They were pretty amazing!

Here is the Macaroni Pony.

My cousin got the Croque Madame: Sourdough bread, Black Forest Ham, Gruyere, Dijon Mustard, House Gravy, and an Egg.  This was probably my favorite sandwich - who'da thought..a fried egg on a sandwich?  I had never heard of it, but maybe I've been living under a rock.

This was the Turkey Sandwich that my mom got.  Vienna Wheat, Shaved Turkey Breast, Gruyere, Sharp Cheddar, Lettuce, Tomato, Avocado, Spicy Aioli.  This was basically a fancy club.

And here we have the Big Ass Grilled Cheese: Sourdough Bread, Chef's Choice of Cheese.  Give me this with some tomato soup on a cold day and I will be good to go!

And these onion rings....I have no words.

I got an apple cider beer - The Angry Orchard Crisp Apple.  It's running a close second to my favorite blueberry beer at the Bricktown Brewery.  My cousin got the Rosy Palmer made of sweet tea vodka and lemonade.  It wasn't my favorite drink but it was still good.

After dinner, we stopped by one of the food trucks to get dessert.  We chose Roxy's Ice Cream.

I tried and tried to lighten this picture but I finally gave up.  I got the Salted Caramel, my mom got Chocolate, my aunt got Lemon, and my cousin got Strawberries and Creme.  This ice cream was delish!!  I was kinda sad when mine was gone.
