a story about a cupcake and a ring

A normal proposal looks like this... My proposal looked like this... I'm sure many of you are asking "Why in a cupcake?" Well, I'm not sure how or when it got started, but David has been calling me cupcake for as long as I can remember. Yea yea I know....cheesy! :) I always see these cute little cupcake trinket boxes and always say I want one but don't really know what I'd do with it. So David said since I have always wanted one, he thought that one would make a good ring box. I LOVED it!!!

♥ the proposal ♥

Last time I blogged, I said I would get caught up on last year by only blogging about the most important things. Little did I know, a couple days later would be one of the most important and exciting days of my life!! David asked me to marry him!!! I can't even express how excited and happy I am!! He is my best friend and my rock and I am so lucky to be madly in love with him! Ok...enough of the mushy gushy (I've never typed that!) stuff and on to the important stuff that everyone wants to know!!! David picked me up from work on Friday (he had taken me to work because I'm scared to drive on snowy roads) around 3:45. I usually get off at 4:30 but he was insistent that I just take off early (now I know why). Anyways, he picked me up and said "Ok, are you ready to start your Valentine's Weekend?" Mind you that him and I had previously discussed that we didn't have anything planned for Valentine's Day. He told me that we were going to go to Brickt...

I know that I will never be able to completely catch up on blogging this past year's events, so I will only blog about the most important and our most favorite things...beginning with our new addiction, Gigi's Cupcakes ! Oh my gosh!!! These are the absolute best cupcakes I have ever had! We found them through one of David's Golf USA customers. She was in the store buying some things and happened to ask them for directions to this new cupcake place in town. The guys found directions and gave them to her and a little while later, she came back with a cupcake for each of them. David was nice enough to save his to share with me. He brought it home in the cutest little green box with pink writing and we devoured it like it was our last meal. DELICIOUS!!! White Midnight Magic Chocolate Chip was the flavor...here is the description on their Facebook page... "Devils food cake with dark chocolate chips baked in, topped with cream cheese frosting and chocolate chips...

decorations!!

OMG...I haven't blogged since May of last year!! I promise we're still alive and I promise to be a more loyal blogger from here on out! We have gotten...ok David has gotten...most of the house done. The only rooms left are the master bedroom and bathroom and then we...David... has to build new cabinet doors and drawer fronts. Then it will be DONE!! I am so proud of everything that David has done to make our house a home. I am also very proud that I can now contribute to making our house more "homier" (is that a word?) by doing a little interior decorating. Speaking of decorating, David gave me the best compliment yesterday. I asked him how he liked the way the decorations were coming along (I buy a little at a time so we don't have a lot of decor). His response... "Our house looks like something you'd see walking through Hobby Lobby or Kirklands or somewhere" ... WOW...that made me happy!! Mainly because when I walk through those stores, I always thi...
