Xyng: Product Review

Disclaimer: I received one 30-day supply of Xyng for free to review for this blog post.  All words and opinions are of my own. This post is way overdue!  A while ago, a friend of mine (and Alpha Phi sister!) that I haven't seen since college (where does the time go?) approached me with the opportunity to review this new product.  An all-natural weight loss supplement?  Ok - I'm in!  I am very careful with what type of weight loss products I take.  With so many dangerous products out there that cause heart palpitations and the like, I was a little nervous.  It seems like every product I've taken makes my heart feel like it's about to beat out of my chest.  Not good.  This one was different.  It didn't make me feel any different in any negative way.  No dizziness, no crazy heart issues, nothing.  I did notice more energy.  I didn't have my 3 in the afternoon can't hold my eyes open events.  It was a great feeling.   I didn't take it as consist

Pasta with Fresh Tomato Sauce

I recently bought Denise's Daily Dozen and unlike some of the other healthy recipe books I've bought, there are actually some really tasty meals in this one.  Here's one I recently made. Pasta with Fresh Tomato Sauce What You Need: 2 oz. dry whole wheat spaghetti 2 tsp. olive oil 1 clove garlic 1 T. chopped shallots 1 C. roughly chopped plum tomatoes 1/2 C. low-sodium chicken broth Salt and pepper, to taste 2 C. fresh spinach 1/4 C. grated Parmesan cheese What You Do: Cook the pasta according to the package directions, drain, and put it aside.  Heat the oil in a large skillet.  Add the garlic and shallots and cook for 1-2 minutes.  Add the tomatoes and chicken broth and cook for an additional 10-12 minutes.  Season with salt and pepper.  Add fresh spinach one handful at a time and stir.  Cook until the spinach is wilted.  Add the cooked pasta and toss to combine.  Serve topped with Parmesan cheese. I may or may not have had a little w

Mini Trash Bag Holder

Short and sweet post:  I have to share this mini bag holder I made for car trash.  If you'd like me to make you one, I can...just message me for details! I used this tutorial  and got this adorable coordinating fabric at Joanns.  It fits about six Target sacks perfectly.  I'm always needing a bag for trash in my car and I thought this was way cuter than other things I've seen.  My Grandma used to make the bigger version of these.  I have one she made me hanging in my pantry.   I haven't sewn in about 2 years but this was "sew" easy!!  Wow - I really just did that!!!  The fabric was one of those Fat Quarter packs I believe quilters use.  They are perfect for crafts and the fabric all coordinates. I can't wait to make more things!!

A Few of My Favorite Lip Products

I've recently became obsessed with the new lip products out right now.  Because Lord knows I need more makeup.   Here are a few I've picked up for the summer. L'Oreal Colour Riche Caresse Wet Shine Stain: Stubborn Plum L'Oreal Infallible Never Fail Lipgloss: Barely Nude Maybelline ColorSensational Vivids: Shocking Coral Maybelline ColorSensational Vivids: Electric Orange Here's what they look like on.  The Barely Nude is great for anytime.  I keep it on my desk at work to reapply throughout the day without having to worry about looking in a mirror.  The Stubborn Plum (second from top) doesn't look like this on my lips.  It's not as dark as I'd like it to be.  I have to layer it on to see any color.  The Shocking Coral is more of a pinkish color...not so much coral.  The Electric Orange is BRIGHT!  But, I usually mix it with another golden nude I have and it tones it down a little. All of these are perfect for spring and summer;
