Nail Files: Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend

Sally Hansen Diamond Strength: Save the Date (on my nails AND the cuticles around my nails ... I like to match like that)  I need to stop painting my nails while watching tv!

Sally Hansen Diamond Strength nail polish is one of my FAVE FAVE FAVE lines!  It keeps my nails seriously strong - which is what I need because my nails break, crack, split...all of the bad things nail can do, mine do.  This is the only polish I've ever used that really really works to make my nails strong and actually grow.  I LOVE it.

Now for a funny story I know you are all just dying to hear!  :)

The first Christmas David and I lived together (before he popped the question), I opened my stocking and inside were 4 Diamond Strength nail polishes (he did listen when I raved about it!).  The names of the polishes were as follows: 24 Karat, Honeymoon Red, Diamonds, and Forever Lilac.

Let's back up to when I was a little girl and every girl dreams of meeting her prince charming and getting proposed to.  Fast forward twenty something years to that Christmas morning and I just KNEW I would be getting a ring that Christmas.  I thought the "DIAMOND" nail polish and the names of the polishes were hints of what was about to happen.  BOY, was I WRONG!!!  What a TEASE!  That was just wrong, David...so very very wrong!  It didn't happen that morning...BUT, two months later, he made up for it!  Read about the engagement here :)

  1. I need to try this brand! My nails have been peeling like crazy lately. That is a cruel, cruel joke David played on you! But at least he got you some nail polish. Haha! My husband wouldn't even know how.

  2. Awwww I'm glad he made up for it! I actually thought my husband was playing a trick on me with an empty ring box on Christmas a few years ago - because that's totally something he would do! It was real but it took me a minute! lol

Funny that you posted about this because a friend just sent me one of the Diamond polishes! I'm excited to try it now!

Nail Files and a Giveaway

Today I'm linking up with Tara and Vicki  for their fabulous linkup party, The Nail Files. Essie : Turquoise and Caicos Julep : Ivy Annnnd...I'm doing something a little special for my readers today - a nail polish giveaway!!  I am admittedly copying Christina over at Easily Entertained .  :) She recently did a nail polish giveaway (that I missed out on..boo) and I thought what a GREAT way to get rid of some of my overflowing collection of polishes!!! You will win 8 bottles of nail polish including brands: OPI, CHI, Ulta, Avon, 2 Glitter Pots from Julep, and an Ulta Lipgloss! I apologize for the lighting - I will try to get a better picture and upload it. All of these polishes are slightly used (maybe 2 or 3 times) except for the CHI brand and the green Ulta one - those have never been used.  The glitter pots and the lipgloss are also brand spankin' new. a Rafflecopter giveaway

Halloween Treats

For work gifts this year, I used these free printables  and these free printables  to make these cute little treats!  I had a lot of fun making them.  I dragged my poor mom and David around to so many stores looking for different colored Tic Tacs and eyeball candy.  I wanted very badly to make the Vampire Vitamins...who knew it would be so hard to find red Tic Tacs! I also made this easy Halloween Bark. What You Need:   1 Package Halloween Oreos Candy Corn 2 Packages Wilton Candy Melts in White Halloween Sprinkles - I ended up using different sprinkles than the ones in the picture...a girl has a right to change her mind, right? Pretzels - I stole these out of our Trick-or-Treat bowl because I felt like it needed something to offset all the sweetness. 1. Crumble up the Oreos.  I crushed some by hand, some in my food processor and broke some in halves and some in fourths.  Spread out on cookie sheet over wax/parchment paper.  Sprinkle candy corn

A Batman Wedding and a $9 Wedding Dress

I was on this blog today and she was talking about how women spend so much money on wedding dresses.  It reminded me of my wedding and then I realized I've never blogged about it!!!  It's already been a year and half and I still haven't even scrapbooked it!!!  Where does the time go? Ok...to the dress.  I knew exactly what I wanted.  I wanted it to be short, satin, and a "pick-up" style dress.  I looked around at David's Bridal and other stores but I just couldn't see spending more than $100 on my dress.  (I've been married before and had the big, fancy wedding - and we see how well that worked out!!)  So this time, I wanted a small wedding and didn't want to spend much.  I walked into Ross one day looking for something else and decided to walk through the dresses to look for a dress for my sis, the MOH.  It was like the clouds opened up and the angels were singing and the sun beamed down on this dress.  You can't really tell from this pic,
