The Nail Files

Hi there...it's me, Kari.  I know I've been a bad blogger this week but I have a good reason...GARAGE SALE!!  Last weekend, I spent the entire weekend in Geronimo (the *very* small town where I'm from) working on getting ready for our yearly family garage sale with my mom and working on ancestry stuff with my aunts.  Note to self:  Blog about my ancestry stuff because I just know you ALL want to know!! :)

Anywho, this week, I've been keeping my house clean, doing laundry, and let's be honest...being lazy, because I know this coming weekend is about to be crazy with our garage sale and there will be no laziness in my life!!

But I wanted to post about my new nail polish!!  I made a trip to Ulta for their 21 Days of Beauty to pick up some Butter nail polish.  I had never tried it and they had it for Buy 1, Get 1 Free so I decided to splurge :)
I got Yummy Mummy and Rosie Lee.  I used two coats of the Yummy Mummy and 3 coats of Rosie Lee as the glitter accent.  I ♥ this glitter...I may need to pick up some more colors but I will have to wait for another sale.

I'm linking this post up with Tara at Fabulous But Evil ...go check her out and all the other fun nail polish posts!

And just a side note in case you didn't notice...I have 24 followers!!  I know, most of you have hundreds or thousands, but I am so excited that I have to click "more" to see all of followers!  Thank you all :)

Nail Files and a Giveaway

Today I'm linking up with Tara and Vicki  for their fabulous linkup party, The Nail Files. Essie : Turquoise and Caicos Julep : Ivy Annnnd...I'm doing something a little special for my readers today - a nail polish giveaway!!  I am admittedly copying Christina over at Easily Entertained .  :) She recently did a nail polish giveaway (that I missed out on..boo) and I thought what a GREAT way to get rid of some of my overflowing collection of polishes!!! You will win 8 bottles of nail polish including brands: OPI, CHI, Ulta, Avon, 2 Glitter Pots from Julep, and an Ulta Lipgloss! I apologize for the lighting - I will try to get a better picture and upload it. All of these polishes are slightly used (maybe 2 or 3 times) except for the CHI brand and the green Ulta one - those have never been used.  The glitter pots and the lipgloss are also brand spankin' new. a Rafflecopter giveaway

Halloween Treats

For work gifts this year, I used these free printables  and these free printables  to make these cute little treats!  I had a lot of fun making them.  I dragged my poor mom and David around to so many stores looking for different colored Tic Tacs and eyeball candy.  I wanted very badly to make the Vampire Vitamins...who knew it would be so hard to find red Tic Tacs! I also made this easy Halloween Bark. What You Need:   1 Package Halloween Oreos Candy Corn 2 Packages Wilton Candy Melts in White Halloween Sprinkles - I ended up using different sprinkles than the ones in the picture...a girl has a right to change her mind, right? Pretzels - I stole these out of our Trick-or-Treat bowl because I felt like it needed something to offset all the sweetness. 1. Crumble up the Oreos.  I crushed some by hand, some in my food processor and broke some in halves and some in fourths.  Spread out on cookie sheet over wax/parchment paper.  Sprinkle candy corn

A Batman Wedding and a $9 Wedding Dress

I was on this blog today and she was talking about how women spend so much money on wedding dresses.  It reminded me of my wedding and then I realized I've never blogged about it!!!  It's already been a year and half and I still haven't even scrapbooked it!!!  Where does the time go? Ok...to the dress.  I knew exactly what I wanted.  I wanted it to be short, satin, and a "pick-up" style dress.  I looked around at David's Bridal and other stores but I just couldn't see spending more than $100 on my dress.  (I've been married before and had the big, fancy wedding - and we see how well that worked out!!)  So this time, I wanted a small wedding and didn't want to spend much.  I walked into Ross one day looking for something else and decided to walk through the dresses to look for a dress for my sis, the MOH.  It was like the clouds opened up and the angels were singing and the sun beamed down on this dress.  You can't really tell from this pic,
